DESCRIPTION:ACHPER NSW offers a comprehensive Stage 6 HMS professional learning program\, co-designed and delivered by ACHPER NSW staff and experienced teachers.  \nThe Collaborative Investigation is an exciting but challenging feature of the new HMS syllabus. Many teachers are wondering where to start. \nLearn to design\, implement\, and assess a Collaborative Investigation at this experiential\, interactive workshop. We explore two options for delivery: \n\nFocus area 1 – Investigating health issues for young people\nFocus area 2 – Designing training programs.\n\nUnpack practical processes\, strategies\, and templates to help you scaffold learning and keep students on task. Throughout the day teachers will play the role of students as we model engaging and intentional approaches. \nYou’ll also be guided through individual and group assessment of the Collaborative Investigation. \nThe workshop includes a range of practical resources such as: \n\nScaffolds\, rubrics\, and observational records for self\, peer and teacher assessment\nTeam collaboration document for focus area 1 and focus area 2 to use with your class\nIdeas to engage your students from the start of the program\nSample learning sequences that embed collaborative activities into the teaching sequence for focus area 1 and 2.\n\nWho should attend? She has extensive experience with curriculum development in NSW\, Australia and internationally\, and recently managed the review of the Australian Curriculum: Health and Physical Education. Janice provides professional development\, support and resources for departments\, schools and teachers across Australia. \n\nACCREDITATION \nCompleting the HMS Collaborative investigation workshop will contribute 5 hours of NESA elective PD in the priority area of delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum – addressing standard descriptors 2.3.2\, 3.2.2 and 3.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Lisa has also planned and delivered workshops for ACHPER and the DoE\, guiding teachers across NSW to develop their knowledge and skills in PDHPE syllabus programming\, and effective assessment. Lisa is a passionate educator dedicated and driven by a commitment to pedagogical excellence. \n \nLisa Bauer\, Head Teacher\, James Ruse Agricultural High School \nLisa has been a head teacher PDHPE for 14 years\, with extensive Stage 6 and HSC marking experience. She has taught in both the independent and public sector and holds a Master of Teaching from the University of Sydney.
